Fall Apart

Fall Apart

The splendid thing
about falling apart
silently...
is that
you can start over
as many times
as you like.

Brothers & Sisters,

We are only human, and in that we find ourselves bound by emotions, external pushes and pulls, societal norms, faith and spirituality, and so many more forces. Our actions speak volumes to those that are witnesses of this stage of life that we are performing on. I am a firm believer that nothing worthwhile ever comes easy and it requires determination, discipline, and discernment to fully understand to the point that we will not have buyers remorse afterward. Since we are human though we sometimes make the wrong decision even though it feels so perfectly right in that very moment. In that very moment, we find ourselves falling apart, and we are given the opportunity to start over, how many of us ever do?

We cannot start our lives over, that ship has sailed, but we can pick ourselves up, bounce back, and take a new path. And while we might look like a failure to others watching from their seats, it is entirely up to us to embrace that turning point in our lives and make the best of it. I say dive head first into the new you and crush it. You have been given this opportunity at your lowest point to build yourself back up in a way that you see fit. Grasp it, own it, and move. Perhaps you will act a bit more deliberately and be more wary of all of the outside forces pushing and pulling you through life. As long as we are aware of these forces, we can keep our core intact and do our very best to not watch it fall apart again. And if it does? You dust yourself off and start fresh again.

You are the one who gives you second, third, and fourth chances. And while the world will flux and flow around us and exert itself upon us know that you are strong enough, wise enough, and thoughtful enough to understand just how much of that pressure you can take before you start to show cracks. Action is essential and needs to happen within our lives, or we find ourselves stalling out, and everything beyond that point will be harder to accomplish. Sure, you could float through life like a bump on a log but when you look back on everything you have done how are you going to feel? Our time here is but a blip on the timeline of forever. Why should squander that when we have the most amazing of gifts: the ability to start over.

What are you waiting for?

Yours,
Jeff
